Australia's Next Top Model Series 5
Joining the series in 2009 as the new Host of the program, international supermodel Sarah Murdoch brings fashion, flare and sophistication to the series along with a wealth of knowledge and experience of what life is really like in the international world of modelling and what it takes to make it to the top. Teamed together with Australia's most glamorous fashion designer Alex Perry, and former international model Charlotte Dawson, fashionista Jonathan Pease and his army of cutting edge stylists, model agents and photographers, set out to separate the Kate Moss's from the Kate Misses, as thirteen fiercely ambitious girls undergo the journey of a lifetime in their bid to become Australia's Next Top Model.
A variety of amazing challenges to test their modelling prowess to the very limits lays ahead...from catwalk training in the middle of downtown Sydney, to haute couture shows aboard the luxury liner QM2; from photo shoots in the middle of the outback desert to the banks of the Thames in London.
But with thirteen vain young ladies all living under the same roof, things are going to get ugly...the claws come out thick and fast and it's a savage cat fight from beginning to the end!
Australia's Next Top Model Series 5 provided us not only with some of the most glamourous and entertaining television this year, but also with some of the funniest and most touching moments we've seen on the show to date as finalists Cassi van den Dungen and Tahnee Atkinson's amazing rise-to-fame stories unfolded. The competition challenged our models on all fronts: from catwalk to acting and PR, to demanding photo shoots and TV commercials.
Throughout the series, as the intense learning process took effect, we watched the girls grow from tottering amateurs into poised professionals before our very eyes...with Tahnee Atkinson eventually claiming the crown in the live finale, clinching a narrow victory by the influence of a public vote!
