comedic marvel Shaun Micallef making the move to TEN. In a commercially exclusive deal,

Micallef's network presence will encompass development and on-air appearances, including

host of new show MyGen* to air mid 2009.

Owned, developed and produced by Granada Productions Australia, MyGen* is the ultimate

intergenerational comedy showdown where gens X, Y and Baby-Boomers battle it out to

determine who really does know more, and more importantly who knows best.

An Australian icon through his extensive entertainment career, Micallef's credits encompass

television, film, radio and literature, recently being awarded the 2008 ARIA Award for best

Comedy Release.

 "I really like Channel Ten, I'm very pleased about being within easy stealing distance of their

programming library," said Micallef of his new venture.

Of his role hosting MyGen* Micallef says, "Gen Y's are so irritating... and terrifying. Somebody

needs to tell them that nobody likes an over-achiever and it may as well be me."

Micallef's son "Douglas"** begs to differ, "How can you take anyone seriously who still buys

CD's and sends faxes? It's embarrassing."

 Micallef's mother "Gwen"** is horrified, "Isn't this the channel that had that horrible Big Brother

show?"

Network Ten's chief programming officer, David Mott said, "Micallef is one of Australia's most

liked and accomplished on-air personalities and a skilled developer and writer - his contribution

to the TEN production team and on-air presence is a real coup for the network.

"MyGen* is the freshest new format we have seen in recent years and we anticipate it will be a

hit with Australian audiences in 2009."

Ms Foster will commence her new role at Granada's Sydney headquarters in early December

Granada Australia's Managing Director, Ms Leonie Lowe, said: "It gives me great pleasure to welcome Donna back to the team. Her wealth of experience across all genres of television production will be a great asset to Granada and our clients."

Ms Foster has extensive experience in production management and broadcast services. She most recently worked on the V8 Supercars and prior to this, she was Production Manager for series 1-5 of Dancing With The Stars. 

Hilary Innes has been appointed  Director of Programmes and will continue her role to oversee all the programming in production at Granada Australia. 

Ms Foster and Ms Innes join the existing Senior Management Team consisting of Leonie Lowe Managing Director Andrew Dawson, Commercial and Legal Director and Simon Hebblewhite, Head of Finance

Granada Australia is in production with a new series of Foxtel's highest rating show, Australia's Next Top Model. Granada also has several exciting new shows in development for the free to air networks.
